Directed by Mary Ward, BITS OF BROADWAY has been a Hudson Valley favorite since 2011! The week is a high-spirited ride of a variety of activities for the four age groups: Showstoppers (kids entering 1st/2nd), Runaway Hits (kids entering 3rd/4th), Matinee Idols (kids entering 5th/6th), and Modern Millies & Mikes (kids entering 7th/8th). Monday through Thursday activities include each group learning their own Broadway Musical number as well as playing theatre games, improv, traditional camp games, and all-groups games. Friday is the dress rehearsal, pizza party, and the Showcase performance for family and friends!
TUITION = $395 (includes BITS OF BROADWAY T-shirt, daily snack, and pre-show pizza party)
SEATS TO THE SHOW: $10/each. Limit two per family.
ACTING CAMP
for youth entering 5th-6th grades
JULY 3-JULY 7
10:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday.
This day camp, directed by MARY WARD, is open to all levels for kids entering 5th-6th grades! It's a fun, supportive environment where kids develop valuable, lifelong improv skills and apply them to rehearsing and performing the one-act comedy SUPERHEROES, by Ian McWethy (rights pending)..."For Superheroes, saving the world is tough, but the time spent away from work is tougher. the Hulk has to do taxes, a crime-fighting sidekick joins a support group, and Batman goes stir-crazy without enough criminals to take down"...SUPERHEROES is a funny, fast-paced series of vignettes that explore how the caped crusaders deal with life in street clothes! Showcase for family and friends on Friday with a running time of approximately 35 minutes.

ACTING CAMP

EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL (but were too busy being stuffed in a locker to ask), by Werner Trieschmann, is a one-act comedy perfectly scripted for the middle school performer! With a cast of characters, this play hopes to answer all your questions about locker-stuffing myths, the bell system, cafeteria workers, what the deal is with P.E., and other odd secrets. In addition to rehearsing this play, you'll learn to think fast on your feet with spontaneous, intuitive, comedic theatre games and scene work as you become well versed in various forms of Acting/Improv. Showcase performance of EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL for family and friends on Friday! Showcase runs approximately 30 minutes.

IMPROV & SCENE STUDY WORKSHOP
for youth entering 9th-12th grades
JULY 25-27
4:00pm to 6:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Dive into improv and scene study in this workshop tailored specifically for high school students. We'll explore short form/long form improv as well as scenes from plays and films! Learn how to bring real-life details into every role, and build your own creative process.
