For kids & youth entering grades 1st - 8th

​This high-spirited, fun-filled day camp directed by MARY WARD has been a Hudson Valley “first week of August” summer favorite since 2011!  

FOUR AGE GROUPS (each group performs a Broadway Musical number on Friday!)

AVAILABLE SPOTS as of May 19

  • SHOWSTOPPERS kids entering grades 1st/2nd TWO (2) spots left 

  • RUNAWAY HITS kids entering grades 3rd/4th THREE (3) spots left

  • MATINEE IDOLS kids entering grades 5th/6th FULL, WAITLIST ONLY

  • MODERN MILLIES & MIKES kids entering grades 7th/8th FULL, WAITLIST ONLY

MONDAY - THURSDAY DAILY ACTIVITIES 9:00am – 4:00pm 

  • Each age group learning and practicing choreography to their number

  • Each group learning and practicing the song to their number

  • Interwoven theatre games, improv, and traditional camp games!

  • SEVERAL BREAKS are taken throughout the day for snacks, lunch, and supervised free play

FRIDAY ACTIVITIES 9:00 – 1:00pm

  • Dress rehearsal 

  • Pizza party

  • Performance at noon! Running time: 30 mins.

 

LOCATION

St Paul's Parish Hall Performance Space, 7426 South Broadway, Red Hook, NY  Exclusive use of the property allows us to be INSIDE for rehearsing and performing on the stage (fresh airflow ventilation) and OUTSIDE for games and activities (weather permitting).

 

HEALTH & SAFETY

All current CDC and NY State Dept of Health guidelines are followed. All staff are required to be fully vaccinated.

TUITION AND SEATS TO THE SHOW

Tuition: $395 (includes BITS OF BROADWAY T-shirt, daily snack, and pre-show pizza party)

Seats: $10/each. Limit two per family.

For kids entering grades 4th - 6th

This day camp directed by MARY WARD is open to all levels for kids in entering 4th - 6th grades. TWO (2) spots left as of May 19

It's a high-energy, supportive environment where kids develop valuable, lifelong improv skills and apply them to rehearsing and performing the one-act comedy 15 REASONS NOT TO BE IN A PLAY by Alan Haehnel (rights pending). This is a play about not being in a play, ironically expressed through a hilarious series of monologues, duets, and ensemble scenes. Showcase performance of 15 REASONS NOT TO BE IN A PLAY for family and friends with a running time of approximately 35 minutes.

THE DISTRACTED SCHOLAR'S GUIDE TO LITERATURE & DRAMA by Peter Bloedel (rights pending) is a one-act comedy replete with ghosts, villains, and hilarious mash-ups of great literary dramatic characters! In addition to rehearsing this play, you'll learn to think fast on your feet with spontaneous, intuitive, comedic theatre games and scene work as you become well versed in various forms of Acting/Improv. Showcase performance of THE DISTRACTED SCHOLAR'S GUIDE TO LITERATURE & DRAMA for family and friends! Showcase runs approximately 35 minutes.
